I thought it was worth a wild try, so I tested last night to 1 pc and it failed. The copied the command from the pre packaged Adobe Reader into the Parameters line and it auto put it in the Command line. So I pointed it to the acrobatupd1107.msp. Really did not understand what I was doing but thought I would try with the. Location can now be used with MDT for deployment and MSI is updated reader or a"NewMsiOnNetworkShare.msi" /p"MSPfile.msp" MSP into MSI using msiexec.exe /a switch.then deploy newly patched MSI Put in a folder, then went to this site in Spiceworks I am trying to get the Adobe Standard update deployed. They do a weekly webcast and answer lots of questions I have found it rather helpful in learning the ins and outs as well as some best practices. If you aren't very familiar with PDQ products, or want to know more, may I suggest looking at their YouTube channel. Hope that made sense and answers your question! For the target computers, you could then create a dynamic collection in PDQ Inventory specifying which computers need the update and deploy to that group. After that, you would have to manually change the executable every time there was an update-given the parameters haven't changed. This would require you to download the update and then create a "New Package" which you would then point to the exe/msi file and set the install parameters. While you cannot have PDQ automatically deploy the updates for you, you can create your own packages with the updates. As for Adobe products, they only provide updated packages for Flash, a few Reader versions, and AIR as well as uninstall packages. You can look through the Package Library in PDQ Deploy to see what packages they update. If so, they do not create/maintain updated packages in the package library for licensed products. I would figure when you say Adobe Standard XI and X that you are meaning a licensed version of Acrobat. However this is only for packages listed in the Package Library. with Flash and Java and the like, you can create auto deployments to automatically send out updates to the target workstations. A pretty good deal for workstations not needing a client installed!īut to the point. I use the PDQ products in Enterprise Mode as well.
